Researchers have discovered a humble fruit could prevent your next hangover.
Now we at Clean Food Now never get hangovers (earnest head shake). Over indulgence in Caramel Slice maybe….but not hangovers (another earnest head shake) . However, should you know someone who is prone to hangovers (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), then this may provide a useful tip to share with the aforementioned ‘someone’!
Most hangover solutions are administered after the fact, but with this one you need to be more prepared. You need to consume this hangover cure before you get on the plonk! So it requires a quick reality check of the impending social situation before you leave the house!
Since it comes from a healthy nutritious fruit, I say, cover your bases and have it anyway! It’s certainly not going to hurt even if you (sorry, I mean ‘your friend’) does manage to exercise restraint with the celebratory drinks!

As part of a scoping study funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia, the CSIRO is looking to discover the hidden health benefits of pears.
Professor Manny Noakes, research director for Nutrition and Health with the CSIRO, said so far the results were surprising.
“Believe it or not, there are effects that pears may have on the amount of blood alcohol after an alcoholic drink,” she said.
But, if you are having a big night on the booze, do not rush for a pear just yet.
“I should make the point that the effect was demonstrated if you take pear juice before alcohol consumption,” Professor Noakes said.
“So there is no evidence that you can take pear after alcohol consumption?”
“Once you have a hangover, there is no evidence that it will do you any good.”
